Archivist I

Note: This position will average about 30 per week depending on workload.
Principal DutiesAs the Archivist you will:
- Accession new materials and manage custody transfer paperwork.
- Arrange and process physical collections according to archival principles and standards.
- Re-housing physical materials in appropriate archival-quality enclosures (folders, boxes) for long-term stability.
- Enter processed collections metadata into an information management system.
- Assist lead archivists in describing collections for finding aids, inventories, and catalog records using standards like DACS (Describing Archives: A Content Standard) and EAD (Encoded Archival Description)

The ideal candidate's skills should include:- A basic knowledge of DACS (Describing Archives: A Content Standard) and EAD (Encoded Archival Description)
- Demonstrated ability to receive instructions and execute a project in a timely manner.
- Willingness to collaborate on multiple projects at one time
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work independently
- Willingness to learn to new processes
Note: Preference may be given to applicants with a degree in Library and Information Science, Political Science, or History.
Salary: $18.27-$28.94 hourly
Job Type: Full time, time-limited (TL) with the potential to become permanent
